In 2020 I set up weekly drop in warm-ups through The Old Vic, with the view to provide a space for actors to keep their voices in good condition and match fit for returning to the rehearsal room. I continued these on a regular basis for the next five years and now offer occasional sessions, giving the opportunity for people to connect with others to make sounds together, apart. Contact me for signing up details.
You don't need any previous performing experience to take part. Each session, I'll explain the exercises, so you can join in at the level that you feel comfortable with.
The exercises that I have developed over thirty years' experience, are equally useful in stress relief and anxiety management, harnessing breathing techniques to bring a sense of calm and connection between our bodies, our thoughts and our breath.
...I was able to feel the enormous gift you gave which again and again shifted me. Sometimes in my voice, sometimes my body, sometimes my nervous system, and, slowly slowly discovering what it could be like to breathe and be with breath without agenda and judgement and purpose of work. Thank you.
Thanks once more for these lovely sessions which I love attending.
I really valued the sessions we had together. You were professional, friendly, and incredibly reassuring in a time of great uncertainty for me.
I wanted to thank you so much for giving us your time, experience and energy over the last few months. I'm delighted to say that things are getting busier now for me so I'll no longing be able to join you but I've relished every second and it's really helped with keeping my voice healthy. Much appreciated.
